How to commission a Red Dirt Hymn

22 February, 2021

Andrew Ford’s Red Dirt Hymns (‘The right idea for strange times’ – Harriet Cunningham, Limelight, March 2021) are a sequence of songs about hope and fear, courage, resilience, forbearance and forgiveness – in fact, the sorts of things hymns have always been about. They have new, specially commissioned lyrics by some of Australia’s finest poets and can be tailored to the needs or any singer or singers. If you would like to commission a new song in the series or an arrangement – for your voice or instrument, or your choir – of an existing hymn, please contact the composer via the contact page.

Listen here to Gian Slater sing ‘Gone’ to words by Jordie Albiston (Soundcloud).
